The Grogan Family: A Legacy of Service, Leadership, and Compassion
Citrus County, FL — August 16, 2025 — The Grogan family proudly shares its story of multi-generational service, leadership, entrepreneurship, and creativity. Rooted in the values of discipline, resilience, faith, and compassion, the Grogan Legacy spans military service, civic leadership, business innovation, cultural performance, and philanthropy.
Patriarch: Paul M. Grogan
Paul Grogan’s life reflects a balance of service, knowledge, and leadership. A graduate of Lecanto High School, he excelled in JROTC leadership, athletics, and drama before entering the U.S. Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, where he took the oath to serve.
Professionally, Paul is a licensed Merchant Marine Master (500 GT), Second Mate Unlimited, an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute, and a Certified Instructor at Northeast Maritime Institute. He also holds a Food & Beverage Manager Certificate from the State of Florida and has worked with more than half a dozen Fortune 500 companies, including Marriott International, where he developed expertise in hospitality management.
Paul’s leadership extends into civic service. He has been President of the Rotary E-Club of District 6950, a County Commissioner candidate, and a member of the Hernando Heritage Society, where he supported historic restoration projects. He continues to advance his education as a Wharton School candidate, pursuing world-class training in business and leadership.
Matriarch: Jennifer Grogan
Jennifer Grogan is a mother, entrepreneur, and community leader whose life is marked by compassion and resilience.
From her Appalachian family roots — where welders helped build projects like 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea — she inherited a spirit of enterprise. After brief work with Massey Lawn Care and as a Home Depot holiday helper, she devoted herself fully to entrepreneurship. Jennifer has never been a W-2 earner, instead building and operating salons and saloons across Florida, including InsideOutSalons.com.
As founder of InnerBeautyMinistry and co-leader of Inside Out Assembly, Jennifer combines entrepreneurship with philanthropy, providing faith spaces for believers and ministers. Recognized as Citizen of the Week and nominated for Citizen of the Year, she represents both business acumen and community service.
The Grogan Children
The Grogan household embraces both children by birth and children by bond, united as true siblings.
Deputy Michael Shawn Latu (Step, In Memory): A five-year veteran of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (SC), honored as Deputy of the Year and Patrolman of the Year (2018). He tragically died in the line of duty in 2019. The PFC Michael Shawn Latu Memorial Bridge and his induction into the SC Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame ensure his sacrifice is never forgotten. Second Son (Jennifer’s firstborn): A CDL Class A driver, tow truck operator for the City of Apopka, tire specialist at Uncle Ralph’s Tire Shop, and licensed cosmetologist, representing work ethic and versatility. Older Daughter: Rose from McDonald’s Supervisor to Supervisor/Trainer with Home Depot’s Commercial Division. A licensed cosmetologist, she continues her mother’s entrepreneurial legacy. Third Son (Step): Performer at Disney Springs and security team leader in Minneapolis, recognized as the older brother and protector to the youngest daughters. Middle Daughter: Entrepreneur and actress, managing hotels, entertainment venues, and Polynesian shows with her Samoan husband, a world-class flame thrower. She has also starred in The Dr. Bob Story, performed at Disney Springs, and, with her sisters, trained in hula and Polynesian performance under their Auntie from Disney’s Polynesian Resort before her passing. Together, they competed in hula contests and Polynesian shows, including the Wild Samoans show in Minneola, Florida. Youngest Daughter: Valedictorian of Integrity Christian Academy, trained in voice and piano at the Citrus County Art Center, and performed at Disney Springs. She has sung the National Anthem at the Historic Citrus County Courthouse and at the Citrus County Speedway. Alongside her sisters, she trained in Polynesian arts, carrying forward her heritage with grandparents from Tonga. Today, she continues her journey as a student at Berklee College of Music.
A Generational Legacy of Service
The Grogan legacy is woven into American history:
Grandfather: Survivor of Pearl Harbor. Father: Vietnam War-decorated soldier, returning with PTSD and a war-related disability. Paul: Marine DEP oath-taker, Merchant Marine Master, civic servant. Michael (Step): Law enforcement officer who gave his life in service. Nephew Dylan Grogan: Serves today as a U.S. Army bomb technician (EOD).
A Household of Compassion
The Grogan home is defined not by labels, but by love and inclusion. Children of different backgrounds grew up as siblings, united by compassion and respect. Together, their lives reflect the Grogan legacy: service, leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, heritage, and faith.
